Full speed for Marlene at goods reception
Up to two hundred items a day. That’s how much Marlene Bengtsson has to handle in Holtab's goods reception.
“Holtab is a personal place, but nonetheless a well-oiled machine,” she says.
Marlene works at the factory in Tingsryd. Switchgear, transformers, switches and sheet metal and plastic parts come in every day.
"Most of it is stocked for production in Tingsryd, but we also send some of it on to the factories in Olofström and Lidhult."
Forklift operators receive the goods from the trucks. Then it is Marlene’s task to register it and put it in the warehouse.
“Our team includes pickers who make sure that the material ends up in our production,” she says.
“Entirely thought through"
Marlene was trained as a logistics engineer at Yrkeshögskolan in Alvesta. That was fifteen years ago. Before joining Holtab, she worked with goods in various industries.
"Holtab is a large workplace with a well-thought-out whole. Previously, I also drove a forklift truck, but my role as a goods recipient is more specialised."
At Holtab, it is clear that the company is growing and that the industry is hot.
"It feels like a safe job. At the same time, a lot is happening in the industry and we want to be on our toes so that we can develop," says Marlene.
Feeling of welcome
Holtab is committed to ensuring that everyone feels welcome. Marlene feels that, as a woman, she is encouraged to take a seat at the table.
"That wasn't the case in all the industrial jobs I have had. The women of Holtab ran the Vårruset race together and recently we met with an advisor who talked about women’s conditions when it comes to pension savings. I like that."
Marlene lives in Lönsboda, Skåne, located fifty kilometres southwest of Tingsryd. Because she rides in with Holtab colleagues, the journey is a smooth one.
"I drive to Ryd, which is halfway to Tingsryd. From there, I commute with two of our forklift operators. We have a good relationship," she says.
