We have been involved in Nepal since 2007. We started in the small village of Jyamrung, where we literally helped spread light across the Himalayas. Since then, we have developed many new projects and more are on the way.
For Dala Energi, the pace of upgrading the electricity grid is high. Using a ready-built primary substation from Holtab saves both time and money. “We are very satisfied with how quick it went and its higher quality,” says Lars Jonsson, project manager at Dala Energi.
Together with Schneider, Holtab has developed a prefabricated 60/20 kV substation. European Energy in Denmark placed the order.
With Julia Pastaven on board, Holtab is taking its sustainability work to the next level. She holds the new position of Sustainability Controller.

During this year’s Holtab journey to Nepal, one of the main objectives was to check in on two entirely new projects. In the remote and impoverished region of Jajarkot, two schools have been built for children following last year’s earthquake.
“Thanks to our efforts, we’re making a significant difference for people. It feels great,” says Gordon Gunnarsson, Holtab’s Technical Manager, who visited Nepal for the seventh time.
